Young driver’s car insurance:

Young people are often penalised by car insurance providers due to the high risk factor associated with their driving. Unfortunately the statistics on road traffic accidents don’t paint a pretty picture. Drivers under the age of 21 are ten times more likely to be killed or seriously injured in a car accident than drivers that are over the age of 35.

Although age is a major factor in the amount you will pay for your insurance, the type or car you drive will also play a big part. If you wish to get the cheapest insurance possible it is important to drive a car that is in the group one category such as a Citroen C2, Ford KA or a Corsa.

The biggest concern about insuring young drivers is their inexperience on the roads. Something worth consideration for cheaper insurance is taking an advanced driving course. Courses such as the Pass Plus are designed to give you a wider experience of driving and some insurance companies will offer you as much as a 35% off the cost of insurance if you have taken such a course. The more experienced or qualified you are to drive the more likely your premiums are to be reduced, as you are less likely to be involved in an accident.

Something that every young person can do to save money on their car insurance is to shop around. Some car insurance providers specialise in insuring young people and offer great deals on car insurance. With the help of a price comparison site it could not be easier to find the right deal for you. At Moneysupermarket.com you can compare hundreds of providers in a quick and easy way, just think what you could spend the extra money on!

A MAN who sold pirated DVDs at a car boot sale held at Posh's London Road car park was caught with pornographic videos in his bag. A 27 year old man of Eagle Way, Hampton, was selling a number of copied films, including Disney family favourites, when city trading standards officers approached his stall at the regular boot sale. The court heard that the man, who is on benefits, had been trying to make extra money, and had seen stallholders making large profits from the sale of fake DVDs at the sale.

THE plug has been pulled on council plans for weekly car boot sales in Brighouse due to start on Sunday. Calderdale Council wanted to run sales on the Daisy Street car park and estimated it would make £15,000 annually. And the authority cleared the way by diverting monthly charity car boot sales organised by Brighouse Lions on to the Bethel Street car park. But the council plans are now on hold after complaints.

Car boot sale LP fetches £4,000 The buyer paid just £2 for the signed album at a car boot sale A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale has sold for £4,000 at an auction. The new owner, a Derbyshire man who did not want to be identified, beat off competition from a New York bidder to secure the Black and Blue LP. The record is believed to be signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3. Experts think the album was signed as part of a celebration to welcome Ronnie Wood, who replaced Mick Taylor in the Stones in 1976.
